Our Covid-19 Response

From the moment you walk into our centers, we’re committed to your health and safety. Our donors are at the heart of what we do – by donating plasma, donors offer a lifeline to someone in need. At BPL Plasma, our highest priority is protecting the well-being of our donors and team members through increased safety measures and operational changes. As we respond to the impact from COVID-19, we wanted to share the steps we are taking to reduce the risk of exposure to coronavirus and keep our community safe.

KEEPING YOU SAFE WHILE YOU SAVE LIVES

INCREASED SAFETY MEASURES

We’ve implemented a number of preventative protocols according to CDC and FDA requirements, and will continue to do all we can to help navigate these rapidly evolving times. Watch the short video to learn more about the safety precautions we are taking.

Your Health & Safety is our Primary Goal

At BPL Plasma, our number one priority is the health and safety our team members and donors.  Because of this and despite the fact that several states and local governments have begun to ease certain COVID safety requirements, we will continue to strictly adhere to CDC guidelines, and continue to take all of the precautions that we know stop the spread of the virus: namely, distancing when we are able; enhanced cleaning and disinfection; and proper use of PPE, including mandatory masks for team members, visitors and donors.

We truly believe that our adherence to these protocols have kept both our team members and donors safe and protected throughout this difficult period.

As more vaccinations get into the arms of more Americans, COVID numbers will surely continue to decline. Our team continues to work with local authorities to ensure our employees are eligible for the vaccine and can get it as soon as possible.

Our hope is that in the very near future, we can all return to some semblance on normalcy.  Until then, we will remain vigilant.

PLASMA COLLECTION CENTERS

In March 2020, the US Department of Homeland Security designated plasma collection centers as part of the nation’s critical healthcare infrastructure. BPL Plasma provides an essential service by collecting life-saving plasma from healthy donors to help patients in need of specialized medical treatments created from plasma. Plasma donors can print an essential and critical travel letter allowing them to travel to our centers to donate life-saving plasma.

BPL Plasma Centers Are:

  • Clean, well-controlled, and supervised establishments
  • Subject to federal/state quality and safety requirements
  • Governed by rigorous industry health and safety standards

Although our plasma centers are staffed by highly trained individuals, they are not doctors’ offices. Those who are not feeling well are urged to stay home to protect the health and safety of others. Eligible donors include most healthy adults between ages 18-65 who weigh at least 110 pounds and are residents of the local community. As a bonus, you’re compensated for each donation!
